This is my original design, not based on published pattern. [sakura] - cherry blossom is the national flower of Japan, & represents the spirit of beauty, renewal & hope, & the cycle of life. [asanoha] - hemp leaf. A traditional geometric pattern based on a regular hexagon, a shape similar to a hemp leaf. Hemp plant has strong vitality & can grow without much care. in Japan asa-no-ha pattern is used on a wide variety of objects, symbolizing strength & healthy growth, & giving protection from harm & evil spirits. Temari is embroidered with Japanese silk made in Kyoto, the base is wrapped in matte black polyester. All Miwa Temari products are handmade in Tokyo by an advanced level temari master certified by Japanese Temari Association (). Artist's stamp & signature is pinned to temari. DIMENSIONS & MATERIALS: Temari size: diameter 10.7cm (4.2) Materials: silk (embroidery), polyester (base wrap), styrofoam (core). Option: Kurodai [] black stand (imitation lacquer), shown on photos.
