Liberty of London, Morris, Snakeshead, grey, rust & purple 80s vintage cotton cushion cover, throw pillow cover, home decor. William Morris famously said, Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. Hand sewn cushion cover made from a piece of an eighties Morris design for Liberty of London printed on heavy cotton & in piped in a matching rust cotton. This design was one of Morris own favourites among his printed chintzes. The design takes its name from the nodding snakes head fritillary blooms that complement the larger more formal motifs. The dramatic flame like motif & alternating spiky clusters of foliage seem held in suspension by the delicate scrolling tendrils that form the background. ( quote from the Morris & Co website ) The cover is lined in a matching linen & cotton mix fabric. All the seams have been double sewn & four stitched overlocked for strength. The cushion has a flap on the reverse for ease of opening. Can be hand washed at 30 degrees. PLEASE NOTE This listing is for the cover only. I do not provide the inserts.
