Handmade Ceramic Mini Elephant Figurine

This is a hand shaped ceramic elephant figurine. I shaped it in my hand without mold. That is why it is different & unique. I used white clay for this one & applied grey glaze on it. Each item is made one by one at hand with much love & care. The making of ceramic has many stages. First clay gets its form, the object is let to dry a few days, then burrs are retouched & it goes into the kiln. It is fired at 1000 degree Celcius (1900 Fahrenheit). After first firing it is ready to glaze. After the glaze has dried it is fired again at 1040 degree Celcius (1920 Fahrenheit). After 19 hours of firing & cooling, it is ready.
