Basically you fold the pages of a book in such a way so that the shape of letters or symbols are visible at the edge of the book. Words of love & inspiration are common; as are names of friends & family. For example, you can have words like: Love, Joy, Hope, Best, Faith, Peace names like: Amy, Joe, Lisa, John, Sarah, David or abbreviations like: BFF, LOL. Words & names longer than 6 letters can be accommodated but it may take a day or two for me to find a book with enough pages in it. The books are acquired from local libraries so we recycle instead of depleting our natural resources. The book used for your order will be similar in size but the cover may be a different color. I choose books that are in good condition, have neutral or mainstream content, & are hard cover. Mostly, I choose books based on how many pages are needed for your project. It takes a long time to create a folded-book sculpture & each name or word has its challenges. But it is really fun to see the letters materialize one page at a time.
