Unique, dreamlike mask for special occasions. Elegant yet edgy, it is very lightweight & very comfy to wear. It features paper mache base covered by hand painted satin. The fabric edges are not glued to the base. They wave freely, & are slightly perforated, which gives them a lace-like look. All masks are hand-made by me - the artist, & are all made from scratch. I had mastered the art of mask crafting in Venice, Italy, where I studied fine arts (graduated from Academy of fine arts, Venice - major painting) & also worked as a professional mask maker. It takes many hours, often days to make a mask. The process is long & requires many steps: from the initial sketch, mold-making, gluing, painting & varnishing to gilding, applying patina, & final detailing & embellishment. I use paper mache as a base to which I add different kinds of materials & use various techniques to create truly unique pieces. All masks are made with lots of patience & the same amount of love.
