This helmet is a work of art inspired by the museum object of the helmet that belonged to King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. 4th century BC. The prototype is located in the archaeological museum of Vergina (Aigai) in Greece. It belonged to the defensive outfit of the ancient Greek warriors, it served as a headgear & was made of iron. The construction material of this helmet resembles the rusty & worn iron of the museum prototype & is made of iron & paper mache clay. The helmet is based on a 2-level iron base. The first level is decorated with gilded ceramic bas-relief detail with the Vergina sun emblem or the Macedonian star. The front part is adorned with the ceramic statue of the goddess Athena for good luck & protection of the warrior king. The size of the artifact is: height 60 cm. (23.622 inches), depth: 18cm.
