The stylized graceful simplicity of these birds fit the image of the iconic bird in Richard Bach's best selling book Jonathan Livingston Seagull & helped the Studio get off to a flying start in 1972. Selling continuously since, one might say they have become a classic. The gull is made of Pellucida our proprietary compound of resins that resembles but is more durable than Bisque porcelain. It soars above a select polished burlwood base. The piece stands about 6 inches high & the gulls wingspan is about 9 inches. PLEASE NOTE: the photos are of illustrative samples. Each burl is a unique piece of nature's art, so the one you will receive will be different but of similar size & comparable beauty. It is SIGNED & comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. The base is a polished manzanita burl, responsibly harvested only from private lands where needed for fire protection brush clearance.
