Collage: TIME OF THE DEER, unique color contrasts on various papers & acrylic paint, due to the different densities & structures, including LEXIC BOOK PAGES from 1917, deer, mushrooms, roses in autumn captured on paper, finished with clear varnish against dust & light. Slight color variations possible due to photography. I print objects or old encyclopedia pages, poems, books, & things from the past using various HP desktop printers on natural papers (mulberry, tissue, handmade papers from the paper museum, banana paper, etc.) & assemble them into unique color-themed collages applied to solid wooden boards. I supplemented this technique with techniques from Gustavo da Lina, International Art Academy Heimbach, exhibition of exhibits November 2013, & in the summer of 2013 art course at MoMA, New York (German Expressionists). The Rureifel region has been known for centuries for producing some of the world's finest papers, thanks to its soft water. This is reflected in the region's paper museum & renowned paper manufacturers. in an increasingly digital world, printed paper holds for me the allure of the tangible, the lasting, & thus provides a contrast to fleeting screen impressions.
