Samhain 31st October - 1st November At this time it's believed that the veil between the physical world & the spirit world is thin. This thinning of the veil makes it easier to connect with ancestors & the unseen energies that surround us. Samhain marks the transition into the dark half of the year; a season of introspection & rest. Traditionally, this was honoured with gatherings, feasts & bonfires, which brought communities together & offered a light in the darkness (literally & symbolically). It's also said to mark the arrival of the Cailleach. The Cailleach is a guardian of the cycle of death & rebirth; she strips the leaves from the trees bringing decay & stillness, clearing the way for the life that will emerge with the return of spring. in a modern context, Samhain invites us to slow down & reflect on the natural cycles of life, death & transformation. It's a time to express gratitude for the final harvest & the abundance that sustains us through the winter. It's also an opportunity to honour those who came before us; our ancestors, guides & the wisdom of the past that shapes our present. Every candle is handmade to order especially for you. A repurposed beer bottle container filled with Earth friendly soy wax & your choice of scent. Topped with a natural wooden lid to protect from dust particles when not in use. For the best possible burn, on the first initial light, allow the wax to melt to the very edges of the jar - if you don't do this, it can cause the candle to tunnel down resulting in wasted wax. Ideally only burn for a maximum of 4 hours at a time. Trim the wick before each burn to around 5mm by trimming off the burnt ends once cooled. Not trimming the wick will cause the flame to become large & cause black soot on the jar. Time for a new positive lifestyle change with an upcycled beer bottle candle! So, with this upcycled beer bottle candle; once you have finished the candle, give the glass a good clean to ensure all the waxy residue has gone. Then the glass can actually be recycled properly! You will receive a beautifully scented handmade candle made in an old beer bottle with an approximate 50 hour burn time. Presented in a gift box with more information on the production of making the beer bottle into the candle you receive. Perfect treat for yourself or a gift to others.
