Kimono Silk Pillow Cover Vintage Katazome Floral Throw

This unique floral pillow cover features a vintage Japanese katazome dyed silk kimono panel. Katazome is a fabric dyeing technique using a rice flour resist paste applied through a stencil. The places where the paste adheres to the cloth resist color in the dyeing process. Pigment is added by hand painting, immersion, or both. The central ivory, rose, gray, burgundy & plum chrysanthemum motif panel is complemented by gray silk jacquard kimono bands on the front & a putty cotton canvas on the back. The piece is finished with a hidden zipper at the bottom & fully lined in cotton fabric. Hand made in the USA. Measures 19 square & fits a standard 20 square feather insert. Dry clean only.
