Quick note about tariffs & VAT: For US clients, I handle all export paperwork & tariffs, so what you pay at checkout covers everything. You won't face any unexpected duties or hidden costs when your piece arrives. For customers in other countries, no sales tax will be collected, but local VAT may be collected by DHL en route. It's a percentage collected on declared value, & not prohibitive. My aim is to make international shipping as smooth & transparent as possible, so you can focus on enjoying a handmade piece that will last for generations. The Quilpo Dining Table, solid & elegant, is a pleasure to eat at, to look at & to touch. The beveled edges of the solid top sweep from bottom to top as they run the length of the table's bowed sides & the members of the base intersect in surprising ways as angled & curved parts encounter each other. The hand-rubbed oil finish is both silky & durable; the Quilpo Dining table works in a formal setting & as the everyday family base. Maybe a bottle of wine & appetizers set in the center, maybe a prone sippy cup & a handful of paper towels- one way or another it'll feel like home. The Quilpo Dining Table's wedged tusk tenon joinery is beautiful, & easy to assemble (a link to a how-to video is included). This fascinating joint is one of the oldest known woodworking techniques. It's a classic to both eastern & western schools of construction; examples have been found sealed for thousands of years in Egyptian tombs as well as other ancient structures from around the world. Thanks to these joints, the table is rock-solid, yet easily moved, shipped, & maneuvered through hallways & doors. Each Table is hand signed & numbered; The tables pictured here are in Zoita, a honey colored dense semi-tropical hardwood that can also be stained a deeper color. I flat-pack for shipping via DHL in a custom built wooden crate. in the unlikely event that something is damaged in shipping, I'll replace it right away.
