Globe Guard is an organization that is committed to nature conservation worldwide & supports young researchers in particular This solid bronze sculpture is a branch of a curling hazel tree. This beautiful branches can be cast in bronze very well. The small chimpanzee is welded to the branche. It hangs on his hand & rest with the foot on the branch . The photot's show a greener & a less green version of the monkey. I rubbed a bit more green color of, because I did not like it so green. If you like it very green I can color it again. The branch can be put in a small black decorative stone,This stone is included, but you can find a socket yourself too. A nice piece of wood, a brick or a nice stone with a flat side under can do very well too. You can go to a stone cutter to ask him to make a hole in it. They usually sell sockets in all different sizes. I am sure the sculpture can find a nice place somewhere in your house. The bronze is smoothly prepared. It is shiny with bee wax. The colour is brown The size if the figurine is 25 cm. about 10 high, 12 cm.(4.7) wide & 5 cm (2) deep. Weight 400 gram. (0.88 pound) The bottom of the branch has a diameter of 0.53 cm.(0.2) Weight stone 800 gram (about 1.76 pound) Making a bronze sculpture is a lot of work. You have to make a wax form first, you can use all kind of materials as long as it can burn. I like to use materials from nature. Making a mold is a very secure job. The mold is put in the oven for a long time. After cleaning, the mold can be filled with red hot flowed bronze. I did this process, except casting, myself, But now I have found a professional bronze caster who is bronzing my sculptures. The costs making a bronze sculpture are very high, It is hard work but very nice to do. BRONZE IS FOR EVER I like to use things from nature & I like monkeys & specially chimpanzees very much. I make human figures in different stands, intimate, or acrobatic.
