Johnstone's Trade Stormshield Aqua Guard Exterior Primer Undercoat is a premium quality, water-based primer and undercoat ideal for exterior wood & metal, trusted by professional decorators and DIYers. It has excellent adhesion to previously painted surfaces and most porous substrates. When used over bare timber it prevents resins from staining through into the finish, making it the perfect preparation for exterior woodwork. It acts as the ideal undercoat to Johnstone's Trade Stormshield Aqua Guard Exterior Gloss or Satin, delivering excellent opacity and adhesion for a long-lasting paint system with up to 8 years life expectancy*. Water-based technology delivers outstanding flow and low odour, with reduced atmospheric polluting VOCs. Suitable for exterior softwood, hardwood and substrates previously coated with alkyd or acrylic paints. On highly resinous surfaces, two coats are suggested. Covering approximately 13m² per litre depending on surface texture and porosity, it offers solid performance across a wide range of exterior wood substrates. Touch dry in 1-2 hours and recoatable after 4-6 hours, so you can prepare your exterior projects efficiently.
