Designed by Raw Edges in collaboration with master rug-maker GAN, the brick-red Backstitch Calm Rug explores the natural beauty of embroidery. Its unusual design explores the unintentional beauty of the backstitches that are often found on the reverse side of embroidery. The Backstitch Calm Rug itself is a precious example of premium craftsmanship, with different yarns, detailing done by hand and expert loom work shown throughout. Hand-stitching by female artisans in northern India completes the modern rug and mimics the effect of backstitches.
