Do you place your cups and glasses facing up or down in your cupboard?: Up
What inspired your home’s interior style and how did you bring that vision to life?
My home is a fusion of my personality, beliefs and travels, all woven into one. It is ever evolving, shaped by the comfort and needs of my family. I brought this vision to life by adding pieces that carry meaning & focussing on texture, colour and proportion.
What has been your biggest challenge designing your home and how have you overcome it?
As a renter, creating a sense of belonging in a temporary space can be quite a struggle. I overcame it by using numerous renter friendly hacks that let me inject my personality into the home, helping me build that missing connection and truly make the space feel like mine.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting their own rental interiors journey what would it be?
Step out of your comfort zone and, instead of waiting for a permanent home, start shaping the one you have, one corner at a time.
Is there a particular space in your home that you’re most proud of and why?
The corkboard wall in my daughter’s room. It served as a revision board during GCSEs, turns into a vision board when she needs inspiration, and a journal to hold her memories on daily basis.
Where do you find your inspiration? Are there designers, Instagram accounts or brands that influence your style?
I love Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration. Once I like an idea, I work out a method to introduce it into my rental whilst keeping it reversible.
What did winning Best Rental Inspiration in the ufurnish.com Home Awards mean to you?
It was such a surreal moment and one I am incredibly proud of. The novelty of it all is still hard to put into words but it gave me the confidence to share my work with a wider audience and trust my creative voice a bit more.
What's the next interiors project you want to work on?
I am currently working on an exciting renter-friendly bedroom makeover
