The Huns wall art, made from reclaimed pine wood, using hand tools only! For this beautiful piece of art, I applied multiple layers of acrylic colors for the surface. This wooden flag is made of three pieces of pine glued together. I carefully sanded/shaped the whole piece & carved the design in the middle. I painted the whole surface titanium white, as a base color, & let it dry. Then I sanded again, gently this time, with a hard (120) sandpaper & that created a beautiful distressed result, revealing some of the clear wood color as well. The design in the middle is painted with metallic gold & the border line with black. For the hanging I used a brass gold chain, which think is better suited for this occasion. Finally the plywood pieces on the back keep the whole piece straight & 1 cm away from the wall, which creates a beautiful shadow line on the back. The whole piece is sanded to a high grit sand paper & it feels really smooth to the touch.
