Transylvanian Spring is a celebration of the ecclesiastic & folk embroideries found in this region of Romania. The first pieces [approximately] date back to the 18th Century. Wall hangings were produced to commemorate ceremonies & as gifts for the church. Girls would sew their dowries, comprised of pillows, sheets, & bedspreads, as well as elaborately decorated dresses that included ribbons & beadwork. I cleaned the original pillow, restored it, & sewed it into a new shape to fit the decoration goals perfectly in today's modern home culture. Originally, a very old pillow was the basis of this decorative pillow, so due to its age, there may be little color difference on it. These pillows are hand washable & ironable.
