I print, frame & make old maps all around the world. I will make your map locally & deliver locally with your normal post or courier service. This means your map will usually arrive in 2-3 working days & ensures your map gets to you in perfect condition. (Plus, it reduces CO2 emissions by not flying old maps half way around the world!) Map personalisation This map can be customised with bold pop art screenprint style words to make it a unique piece of art. You must purchase an add-on product for this - see more here: https://etsy.me/4eQMxKU. Or I can personalise it by adding a short message or illustration, which is perfect for gifts & anniversaries - see more here: https://etsy.me/3tn90qw. Alternatively, I can age your order to make it look older, using a secret process I have devised over the last two decades. Ageing is free of charge - just specify it in the 'personalisation' box. Get in touch if you want to discuss an unusual or complex personalisation. I have personalised thousands of maps over the years - I can almost certainly help you. Intro Established in 1984, the Unique Maps Co. sources the world's finest & rarest old maps from libraries & private collections around the world. I restore the maps in my workshop & then reproduce, customise & frame them to suit my customers' needs. I guarantee that you cannot find higher quality maps anywhere else. About this map A gorgeous map of the Old World, originally published in 1822 by probably the most sought after mapmaker of the mid-19th century, John Arrowsmith. This map, titled Orbis Veteribus Notus, literally means The World Known to the Ancients, or perhaps the Old World. It shows the bits of Europe, Africa, Asia & the Middle East that were known to the ancient civilisations - the Romans, the Greeks, the Persians, etc. Please note that, in a fascinating twist, most of the places on this map are labelled with their ancient names - i.e. France is Gallia, London is Londinium, Turkey is Asia Minor, etc. This map looks great at all sizes: 12x16in (30.5x41cm), 16x20in (40.5x51cm), 18x24in (45.5x61cm), 24x36in (61x91.5cm), 32x40in (81.5x102cm), 40x50in (102x127cm), 48x60in (122x153cm) & 56x70in (142x178cm), but it looks even better when printed large. I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 100in (254cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options. The model in the listing images is holding the 16x20in (40.5x51cm) version of this map. The fifth listing image shows an example of my map
