The solid teakwood bench features rectangular caned seating resting on asymmetrical 'V' shaped legs that are connected by a cross piece below the seat. Our bench is handmade by local craftsmen in India with the highest respect for the original designs. All the timber used in the chairs is reclaimed from rafters of old demolished buildings & has a greater resistance to warping than naturally aired new timber. We also use long strands of cane which results in fewer knots on the chair backs. Although cane is a very resilient material & our handcrafted cane seat & back can last for several years without sagging, we highly recommend that a loose cushion be used for the seat.
