Striking Patchwork Quilt in Purple, Pink, Orange & Red Jewel Tone Batiks. Here we have used lots of colourful 100% cotton batik fabrics by Hoffman laid out in a geometric design to make this eye-catching quilt. It measures 55.5 (141cm) by 48.5 (123cm) approx. Throw size. All of our quilts are handmade from start to finish in my Mum's quilting room. First, the batik fabrics were carefully chosen, cut & sewn, then cut again & laid out in this geometric design & sewn together. A complementary purple border was added & then the patchwork top, a quality 80% cotton 20% polyester wadding, & the watercolour effect pink backing fabric (100% cotton batik) were quilted together by me & my Mum on our longarm machine. We chose a classic clamshell quilting design which gives a great texture to the quilt. We couldn't resist the variegated thread, also in purple, red & orange jewel tones which ties in with the fabric beautifully. Finally, a matching pink binding was added & sewn down by hand on the reverse side using 'invisible' stitching for a professional finish.
