An appliqued elephant family lumbers across a hand-painted tangerine sky as they have done for thousands of years. Their slow & steady pace is mirrored in a hand-painted Lake Tanganika & stenciled reflection. I created this pictorial art quilt with fusible web applique on high quality cotton batik tinted with French textile paints & Shiva oil sticks. The quilting lines in the water & the sky are an intricate part of the composition, adding depth with linear perspective. 40 wide by 30 high with a Hand stitched 4.5 inch sleeve on the back for a simple slat or decorative rod.
