A simple, modern design, yet a warm handmade feel makes this ceramic pencil pot, planter or toothbrush holder a lovely addition to the home. With its rustic & coastal appeal, the handpainted blue patterns echo both traditional Danish & Mediterranean Majolica pottery. Shoreline Ceramics planters are made from terracotta clay which is thrown on the potter's wheel & carefully shaped to create soft forms & avoid harsh edges. (I try to capture a feel of objects might have been worn down by the action of the sea). After being left to dry thoroughly, they are bisque fired & glazed with a traditional majolica-style Tin white glaze & hand painted with of blue Cobalt Oxide. They then head back to the kiln for a second firing. Every Shoreline Ceramics item is made to be unique & is carefully hand crafted. Glaze density, depth of colour, pattern & design may well vary from piece to piece.
