It has been shown that providing appropriate activities & stimulation for people with dementia helps to reduce agitation & anxiety & gives the person a sense of purpose. Repetitive movements, such as moving the beads up & down, provide a sense of achievement bringing satisfaction & contentment. The blanket is constructed from a mix of fabrics with a bright happy feel & includes lots of strings of beads, zips, & buttons. Thus quilt has a range of positive fabric prints, which can be used as reminiscence talking points, possibly bringing back happy vacation/ holiday memories leading to conversation & new connections. The embellishments are bright, attractive & fun! The blanket includes plenty of colourful zips - A variety of printed & textured fabrics - Colourful ribbons to feel - lots of beads to move up & down The blanket can be easily rolled up & stored away or easily be carried about.
