The feet are glazed to prevent scratching of your tabletop. I glazed the underneath & cup with a matte, white glaze & left the top unglazed in order to create that subtle contrast of colors which I love so much. They are made from a beautiful speckled beige colored clay. If you would like more than one holder, don't forget to choose the correct quantity from the Quantity box as well as the correct Style. This item is made from ceramic stoneware & is fired to a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius (2192 Fahrenheit). It is glazed with lead-free & food safe glazes & is ideal for use in the oven & microwave but not over an open flame. It is dishwasher safe. If the item is out of stock, I can make another one, but the new item may vary slightly in size. That's the beauty of handmade objects.
