Quick note about tariffs & VAT: For US clients, I handle all export paperwork & tariffs, so what you pay at checkout covers everything. You won't face any unexpected duties or hidden costs when your piece arrives. For customers in other countries, no sales tax will be collected, but local VAT may be collected by DHL en route. It's a percentage collected on declared value, & not prohibitive. The Quilpo Low Back Chair (pronounced: KIL-po) is an original design, hand crafted in solid wood & select Argentine saddle leather. The chair's striking lines & finished suede back show well from any angle. The thick full grain leather seat & back offer pressure-point-free support that conforms to your body at just the right angle. It works well alone or in pairs as a unique accent chair. Each chair is hand signed, & I make them in Zoita wood, a dense & heavy honey-colored hardwood; stunning in a hand-rubbed oil finish. The design is a bow to the European mid-century-modern masters while solidly couched in a Latin-American design tradition; dense & figured hardwoods intersected by two generous slings of tanned full-grain leather. Its curvilinear members meet, press & pull against each other at the service of the seated, it's a pleasure to sit in & only gets better with age. I flat-pack for shipping via DHL in a custom built wooden crate. in the unlikely event that something is damaged in shipping, I'll replace it right away. Its easy & fun to put these chairs together, I include a how-to video. Delivery from date of purchase for these special order pieces depends on quantity & work flow in my shop, typically 8-12 weeks. This chair pairs well with other pieces in the Quilpo Line (check out my Etsy Store) but is also at home in a variety of style environments as an accent chair or as a daily-use dinning chair (no worries, clean up's a snap).
