Moon jars are a type of traditional Korean white pottery which was made during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The name comes from its shape & milky color of the glaze to resemble the moon. I make many white moon jars, but thought it would be fun to make a Half-white Half-blue one for a blue moon moment in the night sky. Beautiful, decorative ceramic, also ideal for ikebana flower arrangements. Wheel thrown in stoneware ceramic with a matte, mottled, royal blue glaze. I am making new Moon jars regularly.
