This is a black/dark grey glass candle holder, hand engraved with forget me not flowers. It is a beautiful, fully functional piece as well as a decorative work of art. When lit with a candle the engravings are illuminated & project shadows a short distance. Drill engraving uses a diamond bur to mark the surface of glass. The technique I use is to carve deep into the glass to simulate depth when viewed from the other side. Then areas are polished & highlighted in such a way to enhance the features of the engraving & create light & shadow. The glass can be personalised with names & dates or up to 4 words free of charge, creating a unique & personal keepsake that will last a lifetime.
