Stunning baby blanket/throw woven in Double Weave - a time-consuming & interesting method whereby the woven item can be double sided but with different colourways on each side. I have hand woven this blanket/throw here in my home in North wales on my 8 shaft table loom. It is a very long & time-consuming process - preparing the warp, dressing the loom & then actually weaving the blanket. I have used 100% pure soft cotton in a range of colours & being natural cotton it will wash & wear well & always be soft & comforting. Basically I wove two blankets together - one on top of the other but switching the warp from top to bottom at regular spots which 'stitches' the two layers together & gives the intricate design seen. This is a lovely blanket/throw & can be used as a baby cot blanket or wrap or can just as easily be used as a lap blanket or a shoulder wrap. This particular blanket/throw has a two colour warp- blue & white. I then used two weft colours - a different blue on the one side & emerald green on the other. The result is a blanket with a 'blue' side & a 'green' side. It is finished with a turned & stitched hem at both ends.
