Our Fairtrade eco munja & sari fabric hanging bird feeder has been fashioned in India using reclaimed sari fabric from factory offcuts that has been gathered & washed, & then artfully crafted together with sustainably sourced munja - making these bird feeders a unique & environmentally friendly feeding station for your garden birds. The gaps in the metal rails are designed to let small garden birds like tits, robins, wrens & finches in - whilst keeping crows & pigeons out, & frustrating squirrels! Each is supported by a strong metal frame & is designed to last outside in all weather. The metal base can easily be unscrewed & removed for occasional cleaning, or to enable you to place fatballs & larger food inside. Each bird feeder is unique & whilst the shape & size will be consistent, sari fabric colours will vary from the photos. Munja is a tough Asiatic grass (saccharum munja) whose tenacious culms are used for ropes, twine, & baskets, with great natural water repellent abilities - just like reed thatching used for roofing in the UK.
