This model represents a seaside landscape specific to the Atlantic coast, & more particularly to the entire area from the Pays de Retz (Loire-Atlantique) to the Gironde estuary via Vende. It shows a fishery, which is a small fishing hut overlooking the ocean that the fisherman accesses on foot at low tide & in which he will remain for the duration of high tide. He then retrieves the net filled with fish & other shellfish at the next low tide.
