The vase is brown because it is tinted with brown clay. Inside the vase & hand-molded birds covered with blue waterproof glaze. Outside the vase is not covered with glaze & has unusual texture. Owl in the middle of the vase is painted by hand using underglaze paints - engobes before firing & covered transparent glaze. The vase was molded by me by hand without a potter's wheel, so there are slight irregularities in it.
