A unique piece of textile history, once framed & hung, your new artwork will not just be decorative, it can be a fabulous topic for discussion. Many of our customers are fascinated about the detail & accuracy of each painted square & love working out how each point/square plays its unique part in transferring its weave to create a woven fabric! The print, our ref VAN 2969 on a 300grm2 tinatone grosso textured artboard has outside measurements; 32cm wide x 45cm high 12 5/8 x 17 3/4 inch The internal measurement of the print are 28cm wide x 43.5cm high 11 wide x 17 1/8 high The featured design, ref 2969 was drawn up in 1907 for the Roubaix, France Jacquard furnishing fabric weaver Vanoutryve. Sadly, the talented designer is unknown. However, we know that the Mill used design studios in Paris, Tourcoing & their locally based textile design studios in the textile city of Roubaix. The printer of the specialist point paper grid paper, Bellavone was based in Paris, so perhaps this may have been the origin of the design house used for the artwork. The weaver Vanoutryve produced quality Tapestry & Epingle fabrics as well as Lissere & lampas fabric. The point paper of this colourful floral tapestry design was purchased in Como, Italy in May 2019 by Richard M R Smith. Richard has a large textile archive collected over his time working in the Jacquard furnishing weaving industry. The Archive based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. England is a resource to the fabric & interior decorator market as well as a resource of artworks for The Point Paper Art Company. You may also wish to know that this design has also been printed on one of our 100% Silk Scarves Antique Floral Tapestry Art Print French Textile History
