Hand painted vintage candleholder. Great as a centrepiece alone or mixed with other candleholders for a totally one of a kind arrangement. This is a particularly tall & elegant candlestick which I have painted in a soft blue heritage paint colour from Country Living 'Cotswold Blue' with white accents. After painting & sealing I added a layer of antiquing solution, rubbing back to achieve a vintage look. This is then sealed again with two coats of wax finish varnish for a soft sheen just like old, waxed wood. The antiquing solution sinks into the grain of the wood adding another dimension & what I like to call an ''old & interesting look'' rather than a newly painted item. I definitely wanted the finished piece to look as if it had a fair bit of age. The combination of paint, the ageing process & the choice of finish would seem to achieve this nicely ! It stands 14 tall with a wide & solid base measuring 4 1/2 in diameter. It will hold a 1 diameter household candle. It has a gold coloured candle cup which has some marks on it from previous use but does not look out of place, rather this fits in with the overall look & feel of an aged item. Once you have put a candle inside it will not show either. Base is covered with a non-slip fabric. Weight 369g unwrapped. If you look closely there are some minor dings to the wood in keeping with the vintage style. Clean with a soft cloth. Other items shown are not included. in one of the listing photos you can see the candle holder with a small book rack or nic nac shelf. This is listed separately but has been painted in the same blue paint, so they do look rather pretty together. Please do not leave a lit candle unattended.
