A simple, modern design, yet a warm handmade feel makes this ceramic planter a lovely addition to the home. With its rustic & coastal appeal, the handpainted blue patterns echo both traditional Danish & Mediterranean Majolica pottery. Perfect too for all those garden offices, bathroom, beach huts, campervans or shepherd's huts! Shoreline Ceramics planters are made from terracotta clay which is thrown on the potter's wheel & carefully shaped to create soft forms & avoid harsh edges. (I try to capture a feel of objects might have been worn down by the action of the sea). After being left to dry thoroughly, they are bisque fired & glazed with a traditional majolica-style Tin white glaze & hand painted with of blue Cobalt Oxide. They then head back to the kiln for a second firing. Every Shoreline Ceramics item is made to be unique & is carefully hand crafted. Glaze density, depth of colour, pattern & design may well vary from piece to piece.
