The Angel of The North - Angel Print - Panoramic Framed Print - North East Photography - Wall Art - Made in the North East - Gift The Angel of the North is a contemporary sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley, located in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, England. Completed in 1998, it is a steel sculpture of an angel, 20 metres (66 ft) tall, with wings measuring 54 metres (177 ft) across. The wings are angled 3.5 degrees forward to create, according to Gormley, a sense of embrace. The angel, like much of Gormley's other work, is based on a cast of his own body. It stands on a hill at Low Eighton in Lamesley parish, overlooking the A1 & A167 roads & the East Coast Main Line rail route, south of the site of Team Colliery. 1 x 20 x 11 (50.8 x 25.4 cm) solid black wood frame with a white mount & glass. The print is 17 x 7 (43.18 x 17.78 cm) The Item will arrive securely packaged for safe delivery.
