I loved making this colourful cover as - with most of the alcohol technique covers that I make, I allow the random effect produced dictate what the finished design will be. in this case, a hard - edge shape caused by water & paint meeting each other strongly suggested a bird's wing - & so it went from there. The poppy - type flower I took from flowers in my garden, the name of which I don't know - but they have been magnificent in colour & the way they have flowered for so long! The 'bubbly' alcohol effect adds to the ethereal quality of the painting & is continued on the back of the cover, which shows a palace far away in the mountains with the rays of the sun pouring down onto the palace gardens below.
