These trouble cage lamps were typically found in factories & other industrial buildings in hazardous areas. in this case, the trouble cage has a dual purpose of protecting the 40w Marconi style Edison globe bulb & acting as a base to support the lamp. I've finished it off with an antique reproduction cloth covered twisted wire cord that is approximately 6 feet long & a antique reproduction plug.
