The embossing is all hand tooled & great care, time & attention is taken to give it depth & texture. Last name, favorite phrase, etc. Underneath I hand stamp your wedding or anniversary date along with the individual names. Hand stamping is optional. This can be done for a couple or family. Some clients have no hand stamping, only a date hand stamped, only names hand stamped or both. We can stamp up to 5 names or a 5 word phrase. If more are needed please contact us. Next, I torch fire a patina onto the copper. This is like painting with a torch. I can achieve an array of colors ranging from vibrant, to more subdued hues. Each piece turns out unique & one of a kind. The large embossed letters are hand sanded to show bits & pieces of the shiny metal underneath. This gives the piece great character while contrasting with the aged look of the patina. The copper art is then placed on a finished wood piece & set with finishing nails. This listing is for a sign on the natural wood with the original bark on the top & bottom. You may request natural, medium or dark stain. You may choose the amount of letters for the embossing. This is usually a shop name, the last name, a phrase, a place or even a family heritage phrase. We have done a homebrew sign, a vacation home sign called Journey's Reward. Note that all signs requiring more than 8 embossed letters are done on a little larger piece of wood. Average size for most signs is about 12 x 8 3/4 . They vary by natural pieces of wood. Note that if you have a phrase as in A Fistful of Style, there may be up to 4 lines of embossed text & hand stamping goes underneath. The hand stamped letters & numbers are included at no additional cost. For example, A Fistful of Style is 15 letters. Even if you have a date or name stamped, you just count the 15 letters which will be embossed. I am able to torch fire two types of finishes. The Old World muted has more subtle, earthy antiqued hues. The vibrant has brighter reddish & violet hues for a more modern copper patina.
