This lovely red pomegranate wall decor is hand built, textured with various stamps & objects in my studio, then fired to bisque. Then I glazed the pomegranate with red underglaze here & there, glazing it with satin clear glaze & firing it a second time at a higher temp. to 2145 degrees fahrenheit. I glued red rhinestones in each flower & to complete the look, I added various glass beads on a nylon cord & a silver plated ring for hanging. My initials & item number are carved on the back. The word pomegranate is rimon in Hebrew. This remarkable fruit is rich in symbolism & there are specific references to the pomegranate in the Bible. King Solomon is said to have designed his crown based on the crown of the pomegranate. On Rosh Hashana, it is traditional to eat pomegranates because the pomegranate, with its numerous seeds, symbolizes fruitfulness.
