Dim: 50x70cm SARAMAGUS 1922-2010 Jos Saramago was a novelist & man of letters who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998. Saramago was born in Azinhaga in 1922, & moved to Lisbon two years later. After working as a mechanic & metalworker, Saramago began working in a Lisbon publishing firm & eventually became a journalist & translator. Married to Pilar del Rio since 1988, they lived between Lisbon & Lazarote. Most of his work contains many long, breathless sentences in which commas take the place of periods. Ensaio sobre a Cegueira is an essay of the human nature, making it a very harsh book to read, & was later adapted into a film. Jos Saramago died in Lanzarote, on June 18th, 2010.
