Dim: 50x70cm CAmmONS 1524-1580 Portugal's great national poet & author of the epic poem Os Lusadas, Luis de Camoes was probably born in Lisbon circa 1524. in 1527 he enlisted in the army, & crossed the sea, traveled around the world, shipwrecked, lost a lover & eventually lost an eye during combat. His most iconic work - Os Lusadas - describes Vasco da Gama's discovery of the sea route to India, making it one of the most important testimonies of that time.
