Portland has so many great street grids, rigid patterns of flat land development & sinuous streets within the hilly terraces! The rail lines permeate the city, especially along the industrial river. The Willamette River is a light grey, criss-crossed by so many bridges. Lush gardens & Grey skies, Big industry & Small handcraft, Idiosyncratic & Independent, Bikes, Books & Boots. I love this city!
