The clock face is then sealed with several coats of clear varnish after which, clock parts & hands are attached. The 1.5 depth allows the clock parts to be completely recessed allowing the clock to hang flat against the wall, or may be used as a free standing decorative piece. The clock parts are the Quartex brand for long lasting reliability. The clocks require one AA battery, which is not included.
