The thing I love about artistic license is that you don't have to know the exact anatomic structure of things - a 'likeness' is fine & I find it satisfying that you can pull from your mind a vague memory of a crab you've seen at the beach or on a market stall - & then have fun 'decorating' it with a variety of shapes & fancy lines. The lace effect came about because I was considering doing a looser style with seaweed [lace] swirling around more erratically - I'll save that idea for another day - It just shows how one idea can spawn from another! The back of the cover has a pretty salt effect in blue to represent light refracted on the sea. This cover I feel is suitable for either adult or children's rooms i.e. sophisticated but also fun. Note: Not for use inside a cot or for direct contact with babies & toddlers due to risk of injury from hidden zip & the unlikely but possible detachment of a small piece of gutta [ see cleaning instructions supplied with cover ].
