CHARMING ANTIQUE NEEDLEPOINT TAPESTRY WOMAN in CARTOUCHE You are looking at a charming antique needlepoint from the late 19th century to early 20th century. It had never been used so it is in excellent condition. However the sky was never completed as was an area beneth the house in the background. That being said, What was completed is spectacular. The woman is done in micro petitpoint from her head to her shoes. I love the facial details. The clothing, purse & even her shoes are very detailed. She is in a floral & swag medallion. The colors around her are vibrant but she is dressed in subtle colors. Even though there are areas that are incomplete, it really doesn't take anything away from this piece. The sky blends in with the camel background so it is hardly noticeable. The needlepoint area measures approx. 18 x18. Around the needlepoint I used a red & beige edging. It is on red velvet from Scalamandre called Paddington Velvet #36168-013. Ruby colorway. The back is done in red & camel chenille. The pillow is finished off in a red & camel tassel trim. This one of a kind pillow measures approx. 24 x 24. There is a zipper closure for your convenience & a down & feather insert for a plush look & feel. The entire pillow is lined for extra durability.This pillow was newly created combining the old (needlepoint) with the new (all the other elements). It was lovingly constructed to last for at least another century & is an heirloom in waiting. It comes from a smoke free home. Please check out my store for lots more pillows & related items.
