Celebrate the timeless power & nobility of the lion with this elegant piece! What is Cast Paper? Cast Paper is a handmade paper that is molded to create dimension. The process I use is self-developed & unique. Step 1 - I carve an original out of wax. This can take a very long time depending on the size of the piece. Step 2 - I make a rubber mold from the original carving. Multiple castings can be made from a mold. Step 3 - We take 100% cotton fiber & grind it with water to a workable pulp. This pulp is worked & pressed into the mold. Step 4 - The casting is dried, trimmed, & checked for imperfections. Not all casting makes it past this step. Step 5 - The dried castings are hand-painted with high-quality acrylic pigments. This is where I spend most of my time. Step 6 - Each casting is beautifully mounted for display.
