QUOTH THE RAVEN, NEVERMORE The word Nevermore is forever linked to ravens thanks to Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem. in The Raven a heartbroken young man, mourning the loss of his true love, Lenore, is visited by an feathered messenger, repeating the ominous word, Nevermore. I would argue that this is a simple case of misunderstanding, & that the clever raven is actually mimicking the name Lenore & possibly trying his best to cheer up the narrator. But, as is often the case, the clever bird is misunderstood & labelled a harbinger of doom. Obviously, I have a much cheerier view of ravens, & would personally welcome a visit from one at any time! I hope that this portrait captures the intelligence & humour that I see in these wonderful creatures. PICK A SIZE using the drop down menu above.
