This one of kind east meets west rug is made from a handwoven ikat textile, recycled denim & a handwoven blanket. These handwoven fabrics come from the island of Bali, Indonesia & are typically used in ceremony or everyday life. They are handwoven by the women, an ancient art typically passed down from mother to daughter. This textile is a genuine ikat & not a print! Ikat is a labor intensive art of weaving that involves dying each strand individually, then weaving them into stunning, vibrant patters which can be recognized from island to island, village to village Machine washable/dryable, although I would recommend washing in cold & lying flat to dry.
