Not from the front or from the sides, you simply cannot see the clock mechanism & thats because I wrap bicycle chain around the center so all you see are bicycle chain & gears. I only use high end, American made, high torque clock mechanisms, & this is important because the clock mechanism is the heart & soul of your clock. To support the weight of extra long clock hands, a high torque clock mechanism is absolutely essential. If a regular or lesser quality clock mechanism is used, your clock won't be accurate or will simply stop working. Do they cost more? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely.
