Linen requires very little water to grow & flax only grown in small part of the world, like southern France & Belgium. It's planted & harvested every year. & the same land harvested this year needs to be used for different plant to grow for the next year to keep the eco system. Linen is hypoallergenic & bacteria resistant by nature. Linen growing is environmentally friendly by nature. There is really not a need for Okex certified tag. SHRINKAGE: All of our linens are prewashed, very little shrinkage (1%) after the first wash. Not much shrinkage afterwards. We also leave a bit room when sewing. Linen gets softer with wash & use. LINEN CARE: All of our linens are machine washable with mild detergent, no bleach or chlorine. We recommend line dry or low tumble dry. Machine wash dark colors in cold water, light color in warm water (less than 85F or 30C). Use a bio-degradable laundry soap such as Seven Generation liquid soap. Do not sure chlorine bleach. Oxygen bleach can be used occasionally for white linen sheets only.
